I've got the exact same problem
Purchased the phone from appliances direct in the UK. I'm on the EE network and have not received any software updates whatsoever
Ive got the HUI CSC which I'm at a loss about. I live in the UK and purchased the phone in the UK so not sure why its giving me that code
Has anyone found a workaround or a solution to this?

CSC code HUI = Italy carrier branded, H3G

You have purchased a grey market device that is not intended by Samsung, for sale in the U.K. I doubt they will help. Contact Appliances Direct and demand a refund.
