Can anybody tell me if the UK version of Galaxy S21 Ultra  comes with a factory fitted screen protector the

Yes it does. It comes with a transport layer that should be removed and a second layer which should be left on as a screen protector.

Bear in mind it is not a glass type of protector so won't stop breakages. However it should protect scratches for a while at least... the Samsung protector layer is pretty decent quality.

also slightly narrower than the screen itself, which leaves the edges exposed. i applied a full screen one over it and its perfect so far.

I still have the screen protector that was shipped on my Note10+, 1yr and 5/6mths later and its doing good, its more durable than most screen protectors.

It's not even bubbling or peeling, that's what you call 'quality'.

Yes it does and they do last for long time. I think it's because they are placed to the screen in controlled environment when the screens are not exposed to any dust or air! I thi k they started shipping them on since the S10?
