I want to give feedback about newest Galaxy (20 and 21). For me it is really disappointing - why Samsung get rid of jack and SD? A lot of people still using jack headphones - I know, I can use adapter but what when I want to charge my smartphone and listen to music!!?? I do like this very often... What with SD card in newest Galaxy? On the other hand a lot of people aren't using dual SIM!!! So Samsung could do SD with ONE SIM!!! In my opinion telephone witch is price is above 800$ should have this options... It isn't cheap... I really wanted to buy Galaxy S20 or S21 but I can't do this - I never gonna buy smartphone without jack and SD. Sorry Samsung... bye....

Sorry to hear you're disappointed, but all major competitors stopped using these features or never had them long ago. Looking beyond these features, I think the phones are fantastic devices. Good luck with whatever brand/phone you next end up with.

Hi @Mavimix  There are not  many  recent premium phones nowadays with a headphone jack, it takes up a fair amount of space and manufacturers want to fit in more components on thin phones.  As you say an adapter is an option  and Bluetooth has gained in popularity in recent years, companies are  encouraging consumers to use  modern technologies . Though I realise some customers still want to use wired  devices. Some information in this article  https://helpdeskgeek.com/featured-posts/why-most-new-phones-are-ditching-the-headphone-jack/

A similar trend is now developing with regard to SD cards, though they are more widely available .   However  many now use cloud services  and business and marketing decisions have been to encourage their use.  I think this one has caused more complaints and perhaps have good cause  though it is a little while since I have use SD cards myself.   One of the problem is that the transfer speed is much slower  and on occasions the cards have been known to malfunction. See more here https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/does-samsungs-galaxy-s21-sound-the-death-knell-for-android-phones-...   I However I would say it is advisable not to totally rely on the cloud  for backup.

Hi @Mavimix.
If you go with the Galaxy A series smartphones, they all have a headphone jack and SD card. Have you thought of seeing what they can offer you?

I was talking more of recent flagships,  though the S10 for instance still has headphone jack and  micro SD slot.  In S20 you would need adapter for wired headpho9nes.   https://www.samsung.com/uk/smartphones/galaxy-s10/buy/

For customers interested in the A series see here https://www.samsung.com/uk/smartphones/galaxy-a-series/?product1=sm-a715fzkubtu&product2=sm-a515fzkv...

There is also a Galaxy A51 5g but I think there are very few shops that have it now that the A52 5g is here. A51 5g is a great phone though. I use it and would highly recommend it

I used to think that I won't buy a phone without SD card and Jack, that's why I bought the S10 2 years ago.

A few months ago I realized that I had used the jack 5 or 10 times at most, although I listen to music a lot. Why? Because when out I use bluetooth earphones and when home I like good quality, so I use a USB DAC/Amp, which connects via..well..the USB C port. So, Jack almost useless to me.

I also used to be fanatical about SD cards. But nowdays almost all my data are uploaded to cloud. It's been ages since the last time I formatted my mobile, I don't root it anymore and do not install custom roms. Photos open much faster when stored in the internal memory and overall the phone feels snappier.

Someone could argue that not everybody can afford an external DAC/Amp (although there are some pretty cheap solutions) or that not everyone has enough space in the Cloud, but when someone buys a flagship, I suppose he can afford a few tens more euros to buy those things.

I would prefer to have an SD card on S21, but I an live without it. And I surely do not need the jack anymore.

Thanks for your input @Voodooman .   I think a significant number of customers do not know have a great  need  for a Headphone jack nowadays but obviously not everyone feels the same way.   Whilst I have a jack in the S10 I predominantly use Bluetooth. For some information on DAC/Amps see here :

https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/if-iphone-7-ditches-the-aud...     https://www.gearpatrol.com/tech/audio/a36232553/best-portable-dac-amps-for-smartphone/

Certainly the transfer speeds on SD cards is much slower, though I understand some customers rely on them.  They do have defects though https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/disadvantages-sd-card-android/
