Samsung USB-C AKG earbuds only work for calling if plugged in after call connects

I am using a pair of Samsung USB-C AKG earbuds with a Galxy S21+.  When they are plugged in to the phone I can hear music/video audio, but if I make a call there is no call audio unless I wait for the call to connect, then unplug the USB-C and then plug the USB-C in again.  This only works for the connected call.  I have to do this every time I make a call to get the call audio to work.

Please advise a solution to this issue?

Just tested mine on my s21 ultra with no issues....have you tried turning the phone off and back on?
Maybe wiping cache partition will help 🤷

I've tried power cycling phone and also wiping cache partition, but still have the same issue ...

I have the same issue with a Samsung A41 and Samsung EO-IC100 USB-C AKG earphones

Watching this with interest.

Similar on my S21 ultra. Wired Samsung AKG earphones (USB-C) play music just fine but if I make a call the other side can barely hear me.

Clearly audio over USB-C is inferior and error prone compared to the oh-so-reliable 3.5mm on previous devices.
