Still working the camera out myself but here's how I set up the various options after watching a ton of YouTube videos on it...you can always make a video, then pause and screenshot the best pictures you see in it; should widen your options for that perfect shot.
Do you have any examples of what you mean? I find the cameras to be massively impressive! 
Hey thanks to you both for commenting , I have a few photos I will pop up l.. to me these photos look filtered or even fake it seems to focus on say the colour rather than the hair too , I may be totally wrong but I'm not clued up with cameras at all xx
They look slightly out of focus to my eye.
Sorry, might be a silly question but are you using the normal 'photo' mode?
With the pink hair shot, the background looks in focus but not the foreground. Can touch to focus on the screen which may also help.
Consider turning off any beauty modes etc as this all applied a level of filter
