S21 Ultra horrible video recording qulity at 4K 60fps worse than Oneplus 6 and Note 3

Seriously how can it be worse than a 3 year old Oneplus 6 that costed me 550eu and 8 years old Note 3 500eu. The Samsung S21 Ultra costs 1200eu and it is worse at video recording than these 2 phones HOW? WHY? its July update already how is it still not fixed.  there is no details in 4k 60fps in S21 Ultra just look at the grass and at the trees its just a blurry mess. How is this acceptable?

When Samsung s20 ultra came out in 2020 it had the best cameras on it, but even now a year later they still haven't perfected them. Why bring out new camera technology and not perfect it 😐

Well its really hard to tell when its at close range and your video is at 30fps and at 30fps it preserves more details but when i record videos i always record them at 60fps i put it on a gimble and  walk around with the camera all the time. When its on 30fps there is just to much stutter so i always record on 60fps.... 😣

I have recorded hours of 4K 60fps video on my Exynos S21 Ultra Rus1657 and it has to be said that under certain lighting and shade conditions the video quality can drop and not be what is expected of a flagship phone. Details can drop out and things can become mushy as you so accurately put it. This doesn't happen as often as it did when I first got my phone. Indeed I have only had it happen once in the last 30 minutes of recorded video and then only on the main camera. Never on the wide angle or zoom lenses.
Some people suggest that the recording bitrate of Samsung's top camera phones is too low in comparison to that recorded by other brands of phone but I don't think this is the problem to be fair. After all the Snapdragon version has the same bitrate but none of the detail dropout issues. To me it is a software problem. And not an easy one to sort out for some reason, or I am sure it would have been sorted by now. As I said the problem has been partly fixed for me at least in that it is a very rare occurrence now. My phone is 5 months old and well used video recordingwise and 'run in' with several software updates under it's belt. I love recording video on my phone as in general the quality of the video and audio and stabilization is brilliant. I just hope that Samsung can sort this detail drop out issue fully as I would then rate my phones video recording as perfection. 👍 👍

In my case the example that i showed was one of the good ones it was made in the morning the sun was behind me.  I just checked it again...an hour ago the sun is at a different angle and now it looks a lot worse so much noise its just horrible. Just look in this video 0.01sec pause and look at the fence, ground and the closest tree there is just too much noise. the funny thing is in the middle of the video it did manage to capture detail and it really surprised me, this was the first time that it did this at 4K 60fps. And the shadows are a lot darker in the video than they are in real life. 1 of the main reasons that i bought this phone because samsung advertised it very large censor 108mp and stuff better light capture..... total scam ...how can it be so bad. This is the most expensive phone i have ever bought in my life my previous phones never exceeded 600eu and i hoped i would use it for 4+ years.  😟

Yep Rusl657 that was classic detail dropout that I have seen myself. On the occasions it has happened to me I have had to do some serious editing as the dropout footage was so unwatchable. I have always owned flagship Samsung phones and have NEVER had this problem on any of them. In saying that the video quality on my S21 Ultra when it is performing as it should far outstrips that of any of my old phones especially in the audio and stabilization departments.
I think that because I was so disappointed with the video quality when I first got my phone I began to take more interest in it's photo capability and here the phone blew me away and my love affair (not literally..🤣🤣) with the phones camera really took off. I enjoy taking 4k 60fps videos on the wide angle camera as I have never had this dropout problem on this lens but this could be because I now know what light conditions to avoid but in saying this I recorded a 4k 60fps on the main camera the other day in very challenging shaded conditions and sadly got detail dropout for about 3 seconds which as you know looked awful. The rest of the video was fantastic though. It really is a shame about this problem being ongoing as it could put many people off what is an otherwise brilliant phone in my opinion. 👍👍

yeah the dropout is just terrible in your case a complete loss of detail.

The phone itself is awesome and the photos it makes are great as well... its just the video recording that is a disaster. Its just when i go somewhere or travel.....(if that will ever happen again 🤣) i always record videos. Videos preserve memory better. Usually the only times i make photos is in bad light environment (put it on something stable + lowest ISO + long exposure) i just hope that they will fix it ...at least to a level of snapdragon.
