S21 Ultra Battery life really bad compared to all the youtube video review

So I bought the new S21 Ultra on the pre order the day it was announced. I was one of the lucky ones to get early so I could leave a review. 

 

Coming from a Note 10+ that I had for a year and a half, I was really excited for the S21 Ultra, but was really disappointed with the battery life. I've had the phone for 5 days now and since the very beginning I've not been able to use the phone for the whole day on a single charge. It's been giving me screen on times comparable to my Note 10+ (4/5 hours) which is a much older device, but I thought maybe this was the way all S21 ultra's were behaving, just not very good battery life.

 

BUT, yesterday all the youtubers started to publish they're videos comparing batteries with older S devices and Iphones and their S21s were doing amazing, giving them screen on times of up to 13 hours! 

I contacted support but they said this would be normal as my phone was still learning user patterns... but I'm not sure if that would affect it as bad as it is at the moment. 

 

What do you guys think? Should I send the phone back? I'm really concerned that I just spent all this money on a new phone for it to be so bad with battery.

Hello guys, as well experiencing bad battery life... SoT 3:50.

Has anyone with the battery problems charged their phones with the original usb c to usb c charger, because I havent, only with the older Samsung usb to usb c

@IkaBag I use the original 25W charger (yes, had to purchase it) that's c to c and also have disabled the fast charging. takes about 2h to fully charge from 10-13% battery. So far battery life seems okayish. Will see today with 4G network only

Thanks for the reply, buddy! Please keep me posted, because I am on my 6th of 14 days return period. If it continues to behave like this + the overheating I am going to be forced to return it.

@IkaBag yeah, the famous overheating I get when using th camera. This is really annoying. I mean what the hell. Does that take so much cpu power so that it overheats? This is so wrong ....

Im done guys! Tried everything to make this battery last longer, but I'm done, I'm gonna use this phone like is meant to be used at max performance, WQHD+, 5G (I have full signal in my house), around 80% brightness, Adaptive to 120hz, plus using this as a hotspot for my internet. Stop thinking about what I can give up to have a better battery life. If this gets  fix with updates awesome, if not,  and this is my second defective unit, but there are better performing ones, I have full cover insurance so maybe I'll have an accident and if the next one still defective I'll have another accident, till I get a good performing one 😉

Had it since release, battery is no longer showing as "optimizing" and am still getting 3h30 screen on time. Accubattery shows battery health of "94%" / 4500mA...ridiculous for a brand new phone.

I'm done. Considering the price i paid it's not worth taking the risk of hoping for a software update later on. I really wanted to love this phone but back to Samsung it goes for a full refund 😞

Chin up buddy. I've had mines since release and it's going back this week too. F*CK paying all this for a fake 5000mah battery flagship. Daylight robbery.
