S21 Ultra adaptive refresh isn't working

Battery life on my S21 Ultra is awful, struggling to get past 4 hours screen time.

I've found the issue, at last.

In developer options you can enable a counter that shows the display refresh. It's constantly stuck at 120Hz, even on the AOD!

Samsung need to fix this quickly

*Edit*
I have an Exynos device

Performed a factory reset, and now it's working

That's weird, I have 2 S21 Ultras and have set both to 120hz WQHD+. Neither one of them has this battery or adaptive refresh problem.

I see. have you confirmed this with the counter in developer settings?

Also are you Snapdragon or Exynos?

It changes the refresh rate by seeing what apps you are using so if a certain app needs 120hz, the phone will change the refresh rate. Try installing the latest software update.

yes I'm aware of how it works.

and I'm telling you that even on the always on display, my phone is running at 120Hz. it isn't dipping down adaptively like it should.

I'm already on the latest software

Hi.

How much fps do you have on AOD now after reset ?

I have 60 fps on AOD, and 120 all the time when screen on, 60 when I don't touch the screen. It never goes under 60.
