S21 Ultra 512gb battery concerns

My family in the past week have between Monday and Saturday purchased 3x S21-U 512gb/16gb models which are all showing ALARMING battery issues.

Even after a few days with very light use and proper management of charging and settings to accommodate, at light use(browsing a little news on chrome, watching light video and playing a game for 10 to 20mins ) the batteries on all 3 drains 50% in 90 to 150 minutes with low refresh rate, low screen resolution, no wireless communication on except WiFi.

Heat? The phones all overheat after 5 to 30 mins of use regardless of task or performance settings and mostly ask you to stop using the device or point blank shut everything down for you.

All 3 phones show in 5 different battery apps after 3 days (2 days on newest one)similar concerns, the 5000mAh promised with a minimum of 4855mAh only Contains 4399mAh and show a life of 89-91% health between all 3. They are all between 2 and 7 days old.

None of this makes sense and samsungs best answer via chat was to replace all 3 via retailers?

Are you serious? Nearly 4000 pounds of hardware from completely different places and batches? This is a design or software flaw.

Some sort of communication from Samsung would be nice to set expectations or if a permanent switch to another manufacturer is needed due to poor quality of such a pricey device and one launched less than 6 weeks ago.

Lastly I'd like to point out, this isn't just our 3, it's happening on 8 different friends phones same models ranging in sizes only between 256gb and 512gb.

That's 11 models from wildly different areas, production batches etc.

Samsung, you can't excuse this as a single batch of defective units and this is all over the Web and social media with what I can assume so far is more than 80% of buyers currently having severe issues with the above.

Be cautious when buying these until you can see the market responding to the updates coming.

Babishko is a nice fella from what I've seen.

he is referring to a lot of both yours and my problem being related to Android and or OneUI 3.0/3.1 (the software/operating system our devices run on)

he's just frustrated like the rest of us :winking-face:

any time, it's better and easier when we all help each other, besides the more tech info we can from customers who don't know how to or might not it's possible the better. Samsung need to address these concerns

oh so so sorry I always get things miss interpreted sorry about that @babishko . yes we are all annoyed and I don't get how iPhones batteries last longer it's so odd. like Android I get in terms of the background processors etc apps Google etc but surely default apps in settings like background should go to deep sleep apps but doesn't allow us

Iphones last longer mostly based on the fact everything inside both hardware and software are custom designed to work together in tandem, all made under 1 roof aside from the obvious parts like screens that samsunf provide etc.

a good balance between hardware and software optimised to run on it is why you see such amazing games run on a ps4 with nearly a decade old hardware (cyberpunk excluded, don't get me started)

oh right no wonder. I tried iOS and to be fair I found it hard to manage my storage like I am going to get a MacBook as I don't need storage due to Google apps I have so that's ok. but I find it just too simple hahaha I had two iPhones before Samsung S10+ . But android all the way

yeah, I've had a habit of using both up until and including the IPhone 7, after that. pure android.

it's become too expensive and too simple not to mention expensive, to continue with apple both for personal and work usage

From what I understand Phoenix142 there have been plenty of reports of overheating issues in Snapdragon 888 chipped units in other markets but these phones are better in terms of video quality but some reviews are giving the Exynos phones the nod in terms of photo quality.. Then another review contradicts this.. etc etc.. I think this just adds greater weight to the poxy software theory.. Which is good in a way as software problems can be fixed quickly (or at least they should be) whereas chip problems would be a grim outcome. 👍
