S21 Ultra 512gb battery concerns

My family in the past week have between Monday and Saturday purchased 3x S21-U 512gb/16gb models which are all showing ALARMING battery issues.

Even after a few days with very light use and proper management of charging and settings to accommodate, at light use(browsing a little news on chrome, watching light video and playing a game for 10 to 20mins ) the batteries on all 3 drains 50% in 90 to 150 minutes with low refresh rate, low screen resolution, no wireless communication on except WiFi.

Heat? The phones all overheat after 5 to 30 mins of use regardless of task or performance settings and mostly ask you to stop using the device or point blank shut everything down for you.

All 3 phones show in 5 different battery apps after 3 days (2 days on newest one)similar concerns, the 5000mAh promised with a minimum of 4855mAh only Contains 4399mAh and show a life of 89-91% health between all 3. They are all between 2 and 7 days old.

None of this makes sense and samsungs best answer via chat was to replace all 3 via retailers?

Are you serious? Nearly 4000 pounds of hardware from completely different places and batches? This is a design or software flaw.

Some sort of communication from Samsung would be nice to set expectations or if a permanent switch to another manufacturer is needed due to poor quality of such a pricey device and one launched less than 6 weeks ago.

Lastly I'd like to point out, this isn't just our 3, it's happening on 8 different friends phones same models ranging in sizes only between 256gb and 512gb.

That's 11 models from wildly different areas, production batches etc.

Samsung, you can't excuse this as a single batch of defective units and this is all over the Web and social media with what I can assume so far is more than 80% of buyers currently having severe issues with the above.

Be cautious when buying these until you can see the market responding to the updates coming.

Following three software updates since having my Exynos 512Gb S21 Ultra my battery has had one hiccup when the phone would only charge woefully slowly on the second night I had it before settling down suddenly and charging so quickly and lasting so long despite me running it at WQHD and 120Hz adaptive. My battery is great now I must say. My phone however gets too warm for my liking when running the camera app (it has not actually overheated and closed itself down yet though as I am careful not to push it) and the low light video quality is very very poor. My point here is that it is worrying that there is little CONSISTENCY in the defects arising from phone to phone to the point where it it has to be either a software problem fest or a disturbing difference in chip performance from phone to phone. I feel it is the former. Either way this is not good enough for any phone let alone one of Samsung's flagships and needs sorting fast as a lot of people out here are getting a little angry to be fair. 👍

definitely. OneUI 3.0 and 3.1 seems to be riddled with issues.

a phone hitting 60° after 5 mins with all apps and processes shut down and browsing their own in app forum? christ lol

as I have just factory reset this one I can't justify sending a photo showing a question mark, but this should be evidence enough in itself, this model is under 48hrs old and here's the feedback :

agreed.

I think most here would be on the Exynos Chipset but I could be wrong of course.

it seems far more likely its a software fail galore but if it the new exynos chips et having been rushed it COULD explain the severety and differences reported in the same areas across the board!

yes constant issues as my friend also on s21 too and has constant rebooting randomly, phone becomes warm even when not on charge. with me since one UI 3 I had random restart, battery drain stupid Google play services in background even though phone is idle screen off overnight. I contacted Samsung said oh try resetting phone. if not maybe get your phone in repair. I'm thinking why needing repair when phone works ok. That's the only annoyance I get from the manufacturer not helpful. Other than it I love Samsung. btw I drain my phone go 30% then charge

this one in particular is from an App called AccuBattery here's a Google link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.accubattery

I use a few of them (5 to be exact) and show same life cycle and percentage

sometimes a 3rd party app can be very handy. also good to confirm what kind of hardware you have etc

I agree too sometimes new firmware rushed. Got a funny story to tell u so when I had the Samsung S3 good old days 🤣🤣 stupidly I donwloaded Odin custom Samsung software installed via windows and I messed up my mum's phone. Never again. I think SAMSUNG has come a long long way with one UI but totally agree rushed.
