Hi I have noticed that the One UI 5 update is having an effect on my battery life. Has anyone else noticed this, and are there any ways to overcome this?

Hi, @Kelado (and anyone else who might be experiencing this issue). It's very strange that your battery life is not as expected following your recent software update.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend Wiping the cache partition on your phone (a particularly useful step after a software update has been installed):

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/

In addition to the aforementioned steps, I recommend consulting the guide below:

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-to-do-if-the-battery-of-my-new-phone-seems-to...

Please continue to monitor the battery performance on your phone. If, after following the various optimisations suggested earlier, you're still experiencing unexpected battery drain, I recommend submitting an Error report:

https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-use-the-samsung-members-app/

The Error report will enable our developers to look into this in greater detail, and they would get back to you as soon as possible with an update.

Please update the thread when you get this resolved. 👍

I normally do wipe cache after most updates and did after one ui 5.1 and it was Okay on my S21 Ultra.

Just recently I decided to factory reset it and my phone has become buttery smooth.

So I would highly recommend a factory reset if you can afford to do it and then manually install your apps back.

Do back up your photos and contacts first.

Also try turning volte calling and/or wifi calling off and see if it helps with your battery.

The minute i did the update after the warranty phone turns off everytime i put to charge now wont even turn on

Nothing wrong with the battery the motherboard just blows up so you can buy a new phone or pay more
