I had an s8 before and whenever i used the flashlight to take a photo in the dark it would show flash for 2 seconds, turn off then flash+photo. And it would focus on what i wanted it to. Starting from the s9, when i use flash, it shows flash then off then flash+photo very quick. And makes my photos blurry. I currently own the S21 and it does the same thing. Old samsungs would take their time and focus with the flashlight. Newer ones make photos blurry and the flash is reflected off the item. Is there a way to fix this? Or is that what i have to deal with...

The newer Samsung phones use laser auto focus which drastically reduces focusing time compared to the older phones. Therefore they do not take as long to focus with the flash light in order to take their shots. If you experience blurry photos using the flash, this may be due to movement of the camera before allowing the shot to complete.

Due to advances in tech and Camera algorithms with regards to hdr the flash is almost becoming obsolete.

I have noticed with my S21 ultra it doesn't want to use the flash even when I try to force it.
