Music volume dips

For several months now I've been placing my phone into silent wherever I listen to music on my phone.

This has worked perfectly until the other day.

I recently noticed that my do not disturb settings had altered but it was easily changed back. But I later discoverd that even when my phone is in silent mode the music on Spotify, YouTube music or any other media app will drop for a brief second when a notification came through. This is something that never happened before and is pretty annoying.

Had anyone else experienced this lately?

It's the event notification that ducks the volume. Because it can't ignore messages. Maybe vibrate only might work better. Only other option is to go fully offline and in flight mode.
