Laggy gallery in apps

Is anyone else having an issue when the gallery is laggy AF wirh Facebook or any other app u open the gallery in ? It'll sit like this for along time and it's quit annoying. Please help if you can. 

Brand new galaxy s21 ultra

Did this always happen? Or is it new?
How's your Internet connection?
What device do you have? Could just be a cheaper one and slow.
Are these on an SD card?

Sorry my bad....it's a brand new 21ultra. It was fine the 1st cpl days but now it's all laggy or doesn't show photos at all. It's kinda annoying when trying. To get a picture to post or share
