Issue with screen during calls

I have a S21 Ultra, coming from a Huawei Mate 20 pro.  When I have the phone on my ear for a call and bring it back down to look at, the screen stays off. In my previous phones the proximity sensor would detect the phone is no longer on my face and turn the screen on automatically.  Is there any way to get to happen on the S21U.

simply press volume up button to display back the screen

Mine works like you want it to. In a call with phone at ear = screen off. Look at phone = screen on

Maybe I have a hardware issue with my unit then.
