I have a galaxy S21 Ultra.

My Smart View does not find my TV, it searches but finds nothing. I can cast to the TV from Utube no problem at all but can't mirror screen from smart view. If I go to smart view settings the options are all greyed out. How can I turn smart view on?

Smart View is no longer supported, Smart Things is the replacement.

All I want to do is cast photos and video from my phone to my TV ie mirror screen. If Smart things is all that's on offer why did Samsung put a smart view icon on my phone. The reviews for smart things are not good it seems to be a pay app posing as free. Smart view was exactly what I wanted and used regularly, smart things I won't bother.

Under settings> connections> more connection > device scanning. Is it on?

Yep nearby connections is on. I don't have a device scanning option.

It's not a pay app. It should be on your phone already. I'm surprised your 2021 has an app that was discontinued in 2020. It wasn't on my Ultra.
Where did you purchase the phone?
