this Chrome/Google thing is always running in the background even not in use

you may put them to sleep or deep sleep so not to consume battery/memory usage

tap and hold the app icon → tap info → battery → do not allow in background

Mine has been terrible, battery life is bad and now it is overheating every time I use it. I have ran the update and hoped it would fix any issues but if anything it has got worse!

Anyone else having similar problems?

I am having the same problem! And mine is the US Snapdragon Varient. Samsung released a statement to a Korean News company that some of the phones just have severe over heating issues and will have to be replaced. I'm taking mine back tomorrow 😅

BRUH it's not the monitoring app. Hundreds of people are having issues all over with overheating from both the Snapdragon and Exynos variants. Samsung has even released a statement that some of them have overheating problems. They just released a ton of faulty ones by accident

Yep. I saw a post where a whole family got one each, and out of the 4 phones, 2 had the overheating issue. Seems like 1 in 3 phones are faulty 🙄
