Edge Lighting not working for all notifications

So I have Edge lighting set to auto colour which for some apps works and shows the Edge lighting but for others it only just shows the notification. 

Any reason on why this could be as when I had an S9 I was able to manually change the colour for each app but I guess that's no longer a thing

I'm using z fold 2, at first it was disabled by default then i found it at always lock screen settings.
