My CSC currently is as follows:
I'my currently in the UK waiting for this so called carrier update to change my settings over to the BTU version.
My question is: The very last part of that CSC (Primary CSC), when that BTU finally arrives, will it change the incorrect VGR over to BTU ... so it should look something like BTU/BTU,BTU/EUX/BTU?
I remember reading something somewhere that mentioned that one of the CSC's in that format can't be changed.
Carrier updates do not change your CSC. The BTU update has already rolled out and you missed it because the server didn't update you as you arenot on BTU firmware. Your update will come from Vodafone Greece but because they don't oprate in the UK you will not receive their update. You can probably update via Smart Switch for PC.
Hi thanks again for your reply.
So I downloaded/installed the latest BTU firmware but didn't have my SIM in at the time of installing. Post install it showed the above EUX/EUX,EUX/EUX/VGR values. I'm guessing I need to install the BTU firmware with the SIM inserted in and then hopefully it changes over to BTU?
Your CSC code will not change by merely installing a different firmware.
As @Pugs1957 correctly states in his first post, for whatever reason, your device is a carrier branded model for Vodafone, Greece, on CSC code VGR and will only receive FOTA updates for that firmware.
You could continue installing future updates as you have done or Google, samkey.
I have the same CSC as you on my S21+: EUX/EUX,EUX/EUX/VGR. Got my phone back in mid-April and never received those carrier updates mentioned in the other thread about S21 CSC EUX.
I got my phone from an online mobile phone retailer, on a Three UK plan. (Phone appears to be unlocked because I was able to use an EE PAYG sim as well with it. But I didn't get any carrier updates with the EE sim either).
I've not received a single software update from Samsung yet. So I think it's still on the March version. I've not flashed any new firmware onto the phone... a bit anxious about doing it but if it gets the job done...
