IMHO it is broke and they can fix it. It's acting like a roller! They could easily have left the letters instead of replacing them with dots and add the scroll capability for users who had difficulty reading them. Hopefully their "usability experts" are monitoring this community.

I have an S10 with same issue. I spoke to a tech rep tonight and was told he knows of no solution in the works. Androids, and for me, Samsung, have an update every month. People I know with iPhones say they seldom get updates. I wonder why.

There's no solution in the works because Samsung doesn't know its a problem...yet! Its called user testing and it would have failed if it were done properly if at all. They turned a reasonable index option into a failed rolodex!

Why did you take away the alphabet on the right side in contacts? I used it all the time.BRING IT BACK PLEASE

Wouldn't you love to know who said "let's remove the alphabet column from the contact list " that will make users have to do 3 steps to get to their contact list. How is this even still going on. Samsung??? Why would you make this gs more difficult instead of easier. I cannot wrap my brain around this asinine new update. I know...how about we just bring our roladex in the car with us. ( for all you 20-30 year old tech specialists) that was an ancient way of keeping your contacts in one place. Super job Samsung. Makes me want an iPhone

I personally find that sliding down the column to the letter you need is far better, specially if your fingers are large and keep pressing the wrong letter.

And many may find your needs to be valid so as I mentioned in my comment, their developers could easily have left the letter index instead of changing them to dots and add the slide feature for those with large fingers or difficulty reading the small letters.
