Wired earphones on Samsung s20FE issue

I'm using an adaptor to listen to wired headphones. It has a charging input too. Weirdly I need to connect it to a charger for the sound to come through the headphones (otherwise the sound comes through the phone's speaker). The words usb drive added appear. But then, when I remove the charging lead (and the words usb drive removed appear) I can still hear it through the headphones. It's as though it needs a jumpstart! This is a pain if I don't have a charger with me! Any thoughts?

Yes, that's correct. But why does it work when a charger lead is connected, and then continues to work even when it's disconnected? Can I manually 'mount' the usb drive, so that the words usb drive added will appear even without a charger lead attached?

When using third party accessories you can expect they may not always be 100% Compatible
