It is 3 that releases the update if your phone is locked to that network.

If you got the phone from 3UK. They would push out the update.
That said, the batch releases will be done by IMEI/ serial numbers.
All one can say currently is. It's rolling out now so should get it soon

Careful what you wish for... Its awful...stupid changes and brings nothing to the phone... Rubbish notifications in look and not receiving cos you can't turn off enhanced notifications.. Some stupid bouncy effect at end of scrolling... Stupid changes to weather app... Worse update ever 😒

Use Wi-fi to check for updates or if you have one Smart Switch for PC connected via USB. You have been warned already it may be worse to use than UI 3.1 but go ahead if you really want UI 4.0

Some Networks want to test out new software updates to ensure they do not clash with their network apps and features.

The update is sent out via Samsung's servers by Samsung as far as I'm aware.
