I have a problem with the video playback in whatsapp.

Whenever I watch a video someone has sent me it's never Full screen!

The bottom left and right of the screen is black and I can't seem to fix it.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Same thing with Oneplus Nord2 5G.

Looks like a whatsapp player bug. It doesn't undestand the screen resolution when playing back video. No zoom.

BUT! if i hold phone horizontal, before launching video, then it works.

While video is playing.. If I tilt phone to vertical and then back to horizontal, then the resize bug comes back.

Same problem here. It seems related to the playback control area, below the video.

The video won't zoom to fullscreen when in landscape, as expected. But for now, the workaround has been told before:

Put the phone in landscape BEFORE playing the video in Whatsapp.

Ridiculous and annoying, but that´s what we have for now while this bug is not fixed.

Former Samsung user, here. It's definitely not a Samsung specific issue. It was occurring on my Nokia 8.3 5g and weirdly is also occurring on the Poco F3 that I have just upgraded to. I'm wondering if I've exported the glitch when transferring my WhatsApp account and settings to the new phone.

As someone here kindly pointed out, it does work in full screen if I switch to landscape mode before going to full screen.

Hopefully there will eventually be a full fix for this.
