Video upload quality - OneDrive, Facebook & WhatsApp

I've had my S20 for a few weeks now and video quality is good when watching recordings on my phone, but videos uploaded to Facebook and WhatsApp are washed out and low quality. I have Facebook uploads set to HD and didn't have this problem with my S7 with the same app settings.

More worrying is the backup synced to OneDrive is equally low quality. What happens if the phone breaks or is lost? Do I lose the original quality videos? 

Any ideas how to fix this?

WhatsApp, instagram and Facebook compresses the images and there is nothing you can do.and if u are afraid that u are going to lose your pics just buy an external hard drive and 1 time per week save them on your drive

I didn't have a problem uploading to Facebook/WhatsApp with my Galaxy S7 and my partner doesn't have this issue on her iPhone. 

And what about Gallery cloud backup to OneDrive? Again, never had this issue with my S7.

i never used cloud services because none of the offers me the space i need so with the cloud i can't help you.like i said the external is the best and safer option for me

This has just started happening with me as well with my Galaxy S20! I've had the phone for several months now and haven't had any isssues up until about a week or so ago with this. I haven't changed any of my settings or anything either..  ???

I fixed it by changing the disabling HDR10+ video in the advanced recording options of the camera app. I also disabled the High efficiency video options too. Now my videos in OneDrive, Facebook and WhatsApps  look OK.

To the OP, I come to you from two years in the future, I hope your well, it's been a strange old two years.

Did you ever fully resolve your issue?

I don't think it's possible, and that it's just a terrible service we are being provided.

I should have read down further, you did fix....but to do that, you have had to reduce the quality of your video will(if noticeable tbh).
