Anyone else having issue with Sim card on S20 plus? Was fine until last night when i lost service to provider (right after taking a call) and sim card manager constantly says 'checking'. Not sure if phone or genuine network issue? Phone keeps re-starting, guessing as a result of the issue?

As a process of elimination can you try your sim card in another phone to rule out the sim card or network glitching.
And if you can try another sim card in the Samsung phone @Saxy

Maybe time to use a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre or have the phone swapped out by who supplied it initially under any relevant cooling off period @Saxy

Samsung offered a replacement, but will take 7 to 10 days after they receive handset back! In meantime. A reset seems to have solved it, so perhaps some software issue. Will see how it goes! Thanks

I was going to say, try a force reboot. This can usually help with system issues and is what I'd try before resetting. But seeing as it's working again for now, hopefully it'll stay good.

Same issue here (switzerland),
It keeps losing the sim when on default mode (including 5g).
After few tries it might keep the data when forced on 4g but still lost the sim when receiving a call. For me it started after the update. I went to provider to change the sim but still the same. The sim is ok in any other change.
Some cases also seems to happend in the us: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S20/Samsung-S20-ultra-5G-connection-issues/td-p/1143555/p....
I just tried a full restor but still the same behavior.
