Samsung S20 Ultra - issues on 360 GoPro Max video editing

Hi Samsung community,

recently bought Samsung S20 Ultra which supposed to be best performing device on android, need to edit and render GoPro Max videos.

Unfortunately find out glitches and artifacts at all stages of editing on S20 Ultra (Exynos990), videos and footage looks awful even after rendering.

Adresed this issue to GoPro team and it's looks like a bug in the phones graphics processor that causes the issue of artifacts in the rendered - only on Exynos990, while same S20 on Snapdragon processor - works great.

Hope Samsung Team will solve somehow this issue, over wise S20 Ultra in Exynos version will be pure waste of money...

I have the exact same issue with my setup. Samsunsg S20 Ultra and Gopro Max. Rendering looks horrible.

Same issue here

S20+ with Exynos and cannot edit my 360 footage without those artifacts.  Gopro team is aware of the issue and blame it on how Samsung processes video.

Samsung, please look into this because the S20 with Exinos is the only phone with this issue. My old S10+ with Exinos can render the 360 footage without any issue.

Agreed, usually I always upgrade to the next Galaxy because it's the best. But, next year will be a no no if this issue is not solved for the current version

I have the same issue with my Note ultra paid the extra for the 512gb version to do video editing on only to find that the GoPro Max wont work on it 😞 if this is not fixable my next phone in 2021 will have to be an iPhone.

S20+ user here, I have the same issue. (Exynos variant from Europe)

Super annoying since the Snapdragon version is working fine and also faster and more power efficient.

This was holding me back buying the new Note 20 Ultra, and probably will skip the S30 as well if it comes with Exynos again 😞

The gopro support page suggests that the bug is an Exynos driver issue:

Any updates on that? I've got brand new S20Ultra 5G - Exynos version and Gopro MAX footage editing does not work. It's smooth on my old S9+.

I'd appreciate it if Samsung responds in some formal way in this thread and share some commitment for fixing it.

NO solutions from Samsung.

Called  Samsung support service several times, visited Samsung Service - absolutely NO solution. They only apologies and recognize that Exynos 990 is buggy but no solutions so far. That's true face of Samsung customer service.
That was last Samsung device in my life... probably switching to One Plus....sad
