samsung s20 passive headphone problem

does anyone know how how to get my Philips headphones with a headphone jack to work in a Samsung s20 USB c port.  I have a passive USB to headphone converter but when I plug it in I get a usb device not supported error message.. please help.

you need a type c usb 3.5mm adapter with a DAC

My headphones work with my usb C to 3.5 but it won't working using an aux cord to my car. Why is this?
