Samsung Pay not working on newly UK bought Galaxy S20 5G

Hi,

Samsung Pay doesn't open/work for me on my 1 week old Samsung Galaxy S20 5G

When i start it i get a german message for some reason

Bezahl mit Swipe

Leider ist dein Samsung

Smartphone derzeit fur

Samsung Pay nicht

zugelassen

translated to

Pay with a swipe
Unfortunately your Samsung is
Smartphone currently for
Samsung Pay doesn't
authorized

No idea why the message is in german! phone was bought in a uk store at a samsung official seller

I also have the galaxy watch 3 but i assume that needs it to work on the phone first before i use it?

does Samsung Pay not work in the uk?

shall i just use google pay?

it's not that samsung doesn't work its just samsung doesn't have many supported banks which is no fault of samsung more the banks. Google pay is more supported so I'd say Google pay.

they use the curve card which u can put as many cards as u like on it sounds like u need to ring curve for Authorization, have no clue about the German part u will probably need to go back to samsung

It doesnt even start up - it says checking availability then the german message comes up !

I know that if the phone has ever been rooted or bootloader unlocked then Samsung Pay will never work.
