Samsung music won't play tracks

I use 'music.free and has worked great for some time. Now Samsung music won't play any songs I've recently d/loaded ?

Try going settings
Apps
Samung Music
Storage
And clear the cache
Restart device
And try Samsung Music player

The latest Android version won't play some lossless file formats.  I had this problem when I upgraded to an S22+ from an S20+, some music files that played fine before would not play.  I was reluctant to change to a different music player because of the prospect of having the recreate my playlists for the new music app, but I found that my favorite media app on Windows, VLC Media Player, handles the existing playlists just fine using the Android version.   I just installed it from the playstore.
