So I received my S20 Ultra yesterday and I found an issue every time I try to plug in the charging cable it refuses to charge unless I turn the device off it will charge. Which is a strange bug. Has anybody else experienced this bug ?

I too have the same issue.  In addition to this, my headset is doing strange things such as turning on music even when my music app is closed.

I got mine yesterday also and it seems to be having the same issue. I was confused till I saw your complaint. Basically the phone needs to be switched off before it starts charging. When switched back on it will continue.

Regardless it is unacceptable.

I contacted Samsung support online and it was taken care of. I think it's a software issue.

I'm no longer having the charging issues so far.

Thank you! This is happening to me too but didn't realise it till I saw this post. Thought something was killing my phone chargers but if I switch off it starts charging and continues if I then switch it on again.

Please fix Samsung!!

Why not share the fix(if possible) with others here, who have the same issue?

You'll have to switch off your device and restart it in safe mode.

To restart in safe mode you'll have to:

1. Switch off your device.

2. Switch on your device. Once it begins to boot, hold the down volume button.

3. Your device will now be powered on in "Safe Mode". It'll be displayed at the bottom left of your screen.

4. Try charging your device (at this point mine was charging).

5. Switch your device off, then switch it back on normally.

After these, I've not had any further charging issues. If anyone's still having charging issues after these steps then contact the customer support.
