Galaxy S20 SeriesBought the new Samsung S20 Ultra after being told by various independent sources that this was the best camera phone on market. Either I have a 'dud' or this is absolute rubbish. 9 out of 10 photos are imperfect. They are eithet blurred, out of focus or have a weird pastel effect (even un basic photograph setting). The PRO setting is utter nonsense. Im yet to to take a 'PRO' photo on this setting. Can anyone tell me if it's me or is my theory of overrated this vastly camera sadly true???
Yours,
One extremely disappointed Samsung buyer.

Galaxy S20 SeriesI have the Samsung S10 (exynos) and I'm also dissapointed.
This is my last Samsung. 3 camera's on the back and not being able to take a picture that does look nice.
Wide angle lens is completely useless. Very heavy noise reduction which cannot turned off and eats up every bit of detail.
The normal cam is better but greens en blues (trees and the sky) always look funny. Overprocessed pics no matter what you do.
The 2 x tele is sometimes usable but getting closer doesn't mean a lot if you don't like the picture anyway.
Switching off HDR and scene optimizer does help a little bit but not enough.
RAW shooting is a joke. It's not real RAW and only available for the main cam.
I installed Googles Gcam and that helps! Unfortunately it doesn't work as good on the exynos as on a snapdragon but I can take some pcis now with the main camera with normal looking colors, contrast and detail.
I hope there will be more Gcam updates which let me use the wide angle en 2 x tele to, but I really really don't understand why Samsung put 3 lenses in the back of a phone and then do everything to screw the pictures in every way, without the option of turning some ***** off.
Just one more thing about the "pro" mode. Even in pro you can tweek all you want with the white balance and a function called "tint", you can't get accurate colors out of it where Gcam, without even suit for the S10, can do that without any problem.
Ik was very happy with my Samsung S7 camera and even my S9 but this was a waist of money.

Galaxy S20 SeriesAgree! I couldn't wait for the S20 Ultra to come out & now I couldn't be more disappointed! Truly worst camera on any phone I have ever owned. Most general photos come out blury. 99% of any zoom or close up shots are useless. It is also my understanding there is no update or way to fix this issue, so yes, we are both stuck with a phone that isn't worth 1/10th the price. Samsung just may have lost a 12 year customer over this!

Galaxy S20 SeriesMust admit to being disappointed with the camera on my S20 Ultra too.
Although not so much with the actual photos, theyre ok if not as good as I'd hoped but Im more miffed with actually how the phone has been received for its camera worldwide.
What I mean is, any reviewer will tell you of its struggle to focus properly / quickly which is incredibly poor considering the price and 'Ultra' moniker and the fact that the S10 does it better. What stinks too is that the new Note 20 has the better quicker focus.
The units should be recalled and replaced with the better camera. Samsung basically released a worse performing camera and called it 'Ultra'. My wifes S9s camera focus's faster and is a comparable unit as an everyday camera.
I've generally bought Samsung over the years and quickly upgraded from my S10plus to get the S20 Ultra because of its camera, even opting to pre-order so it is disappointing not have a better performing camera.
What really eats me is that Apple keep churning out less spec devices but they've consistently had good performing cameras and their new 12max looks to be up there as a top 2 or top 3 camera. This Ultra camera is top 10 at best and yet it cost over £1000. Not good.
For the first time, I am considering an iPhone, specifically for the camera as my next phone. Shame as having owned the S2, S3, S5, S6, S7, S7edge (really liked this one) , S9, S9+,S10+ Im historically a Samsung customer. I just hope the S21 does something better. Fingers crossed.
