Hi everyone,

Interested to know if anyone has had an S20 Ultra and then found the camera screen at the back either cracked or with a 'bullet hole' just appear despite having not dropped the phone or hit anything?

I have had this and obviously been on lockdown so not subjected the phone to anything like normal day to day rigours. Samsung denied any issues but a quick Google search showed up what I think is clearly an issue !  As I expected (but hoped I would be wrong) Samsung were not interested in listening or checking reports, I was just told it was not covered by warranty and therefore I'd need to pay to sort it out myself. I'd had the phone 5 weeks and spent £1200 on it ! My S8+ has been dropped and thrown about outside when fallen from pocket, not a single issue with it and using it now while S20 Ultra sitting here waiting for me to get it sorted. I have phone insurance so not bothered by that but I am bothered by Samsungs attitude and also worried about it happening again once I get it back ! Samsung will not get my business again, may sell it and get a Oneplus 8 pro 👍

I think that what these posts show is that there is a problem with the glass covering the cameras. I think regardless of holes or cracks , the glass for whatever reason obviously isn't up to it. I do not know for sure , but on previous models I do not remember screen glass or back glass suddenly cracking or breaking and seeing an influx of complaints ? Again I will say , these complaints are worldwide and not just a handful of people who have dropped their phones and feel like having a moan up.

Samsung need to wake up and realise that they will lose a serious amount of customers with their lack of ownership on these issues and total lack of customer care !!

Unfortunately I'm stuck with my now fixed S20 Ultra as I won't get my money back on it but when I renew it will be with another vendor👍

Archer, nothing wrong with the camera, it's the glass that is the issue.  These cracks are appearing anywhere on the camera glass, clearly some kind of issue with it

A glass crack if hairline is a drop, a hole on the glass were there is no camera below is certainly a drop and not a possible camera flaw.

I keep wondering why so many people claim they have a glass broken due to a defect when they knkw they dropped it.

This will not help those who had a real defectice glass to have the issue analysed.

Nobody has said it's a camera fault, it is a glass fault clearly.  Maybe it's too tightly attached who knows, too much pressure maybe. More to the point it's supposed to be toughened glass anyway so I expect it to not crack when dropped from a pocket etc Anyway, I can't argue someone else's problem, only they know if they dropped it or not.

My issue is that Samsung are not recognising the fault I had and many, many others are having still

100% not been dropped put in my pocket to drive home from work and pulled it out and there it was if it was dropped the glass would be alot more damaged and would be slight scuffs on the case. If any thing it would be a weak point where the hole is for the mic a bit of pressure in the wrong place and there you have it. Im not overly botherd as its insured. Its just annoying that you spend x amout on a phone and this happens.

100% not dropped most probably a weak point in the glass where the hole is for the mic a bit of pressure there would explain it
