Hi everyone,
Interested to know if anyone has had an S20 Ultra and then found the camera screen at the back either cracked or with a 'bullet hole' just appear despite having not dropped the phone or hit anything?
I have had this and obviously been on lockdown so not subjected the phone to anything like normal day to day rigours. Samsung denied any issues but a quick Google search showed up what I think is clearly an issue ! As I expected (but hoped I would be wrong) Samsung were not interested in listening or checking reports, I was just told it was not covered by warranty and therefore I'd need to pay to sort it out myself. I'd had the phone 5 weeks and spent £1200 on it ! My S8+ has been dropped and thrown about outside when fallen from pocket, not a single issue with it and using it now while S20 Ultra sitting here waiting for me to get it sorted. I have phone insurance so not bothered by that but I am bothered by Samsungs attitude and also worried about it happening again once I get it back ! Samsung will not get my business again, may sell it and get a Oneplus 8 pro 👍

Get on to Samsung asap, they appear to be sorting a few out. Definitely an issue and Samsung need to take notice, I keep checking mind now it's been fixed to see if the camera glass is still in one piece !

Keeping this behaviour will never bring you to nowhere. Unfortunately you have to accept that you might have hit it without noticing it and it cracked, there is little that samsung can do for its warranty, however you can still have it checked by a samsumg repair center to receive an opinion about why it could have broken

Unfortunately Samsung aren't interested. It is a defect as too many people are having the issue with the bullet hole cracks. I've never in my life broken a camera on any phone I've had and they've suffered proper day to day life. My own phone never left the house for the 5 weeks before the bullet hole issue, was not dropped (but has a super tough cover anyway for if I do) and this occured, anybody saying it's not a defect is wrong and clearly hasn't happened to them 👍 when I spend £1200 on a phone I expect it to be built well !!! I also expect it to last normal life rigours let alone lockdown life stuck indoors !!
Samsung aren't interested and they'll lose customers but don't care as they have many and you're just a number. Keep adding comments if your phone has the same issue and anyone in doubt it's a 'real' thing do a Google search 👍

Hey @Col69 ,
Did you get your phone examined by one of our engineers? If not, I would happily arrange this for you or point you in the right direction to get this done if you are anywhere outside the UK.

"phone reps tell me It is physical damage and not a manufacturer defect without seeing the phone"
(Samsung has already formed an opinion without looking at it or has psychic abilities.)
A concerned / interestesd response would be wanting to actually see the item BEFORE making a decision.

I will be happy to find an alternative way to get this examined so one of our engineers can confirm what caused the issue if you would like @JKH62

I have the exact same issue where the rear camera glass just cracked for no reason at all. It has happened twice in 3months.
It has always been in a protective case and never has been dropped or bumped. The second time it happened, I was sure it happened after I used the camera for quite some time, taking about 50 shots.
I am about 99% sure this is a design flaw and hopefully Samsung will issue a recall to have this fixed. I have been a loyal Samsung client for the past 20 years. I have always purcahsed the flagship or the top of the line, previously owning S10 Plus, S8Plus, S5 and so on.
SAMSUNG.....Please fix this!!!!
