S20+5g Overheating

Hi, on duo calls my phone gets so so hot. To the point I have to end the call and turn it off because the casing is getting too hot to hold.

When I switch on after it cools, I get 1-2 day old notifications coming through, which then open browser to read them by themselves. After about 2 mins of this it returns to normal operation. 

Any ideas?!?!

Hey @Rustymoo! Do you have any third-party accessories on your phone? This could be a case, fan, virtual reality headset, or a selfie stick. They could be causing your phone to overheat due to the extra power drawn by the accessory or by retaining the heat your device gives off.

Thanks for coming back so quick.

I've had the phone since launch with no issues. Only accessory ever is the case that was supplied.
I've successfully used the case and duo previously with no issues (even in the Middle East!)

Not saying it is the new update but I've only noticed this since.

I've tried to boot into recovery but can't seem to do that either anymore.

You need to wipe cache in recovery
To get to recovery you need to have phone connected to your pc

Please try https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ disables downloaded apps, themes and other launchers to help determine if one or more is causing conflict. 

If that does not help try the diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members app.

A very last resort is to back up and factory reset    

A Samsung Service Centre can take a look at your phone.
