I prefer not to use Google Chrome as I think its a resource hog so I can't comment on any experience using that browser. It's one of the first things I disable in my phone's !
I do use the Samsung Internet App and I'm not experiencing any freezing however.
Can you go into Settings > Apps > Samsung Internet > Storage > Clear Cache and then see what happens.
