How do I check and reset my proximity sensor on my phone

if you type *#0*# a sensor panel will come up , you could try that , hope it helps .

the virtual proximity sensing isn't showing any reading , it just says release and has a few zeros but nothing else.

@ragdoll1884: Please dial *#0*# into your telephone keypad, select 'Sensor' from the series of grey tiles, then hold your palm over the front camera. If the proximity sensor is working correctly then the screen will change colour and the phone will vibrate. The Virtual Proximity Sensor reading should also switch to 'Working'. I hope this helps.

thanks. screen changed to green and vibrated, sensor notification changed to working, then when I took my hand away the notification changed to release.
I presume (hope)this means it will now function correctly.
