While this is primarily a Niantic issue, perhaps a gentle 'nudge' from Samsung might get their attention. All Samsung Galaxy Store versions of PoGo starting with 0.170.0 and subsequent updates 0.171.1 and 0.171.2 will freeze a few seconds after starting the game, from various Forum Threads around it seems to be just the S20 Ultra has this issue, i also have an S8+ and i even resurrected an old S7 Flat to test it and all updates are fine on them, luckily a forced update hasn't happened yet but when it comes looks like S20 Ultra players will be locked out, just to point out this also happens on the Google Play Store versions so ball is in Niantic's court.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Just read that - Thanks for posting.
I'd have preferred it for Niantic to have included a date or a bit more information on the timescale. They're already a month into the issue.
I know right also annyingly this whole time we've had this issue Samsung Galaxy Store has offered a 10% discount on in-app purchases which runs out on Friday....This better be extended or better for us to at lest be compensated from all the missed events & offers like this.
My back up phone, being used until they sort out the S20 issue, is a A10 so could make the purchase.
I wonder, after Niantic resolve this issue will the solution will the update be rolled out to the Samsung 0.173.0-S after it's gone to the 0.173.0-G?
not working on Samsung s20 ultra. its a month and not fixed. i wondering if i can take Niantic to court, and get my money back, because i cant play for 6 weeks now. we should seek for legal advice. and take them to court. get all out money spend on game
They have a simple fix for now, the previous working version that was stopped by the forced update! Surely the last 4 weeks of pain could have been eased if they had not stopped us using this.
