Override the preset phone number

I have just got a new S20FE and I want to override the phone number with my own.  I have got my own sim card in it but if I want to verify my account it sends the verification code to the pre-set phone number.  I hope this makes sense to someone.

Verification codes will be sent to the number associated with them @Jmiss59 

It's a security protocol that as far as I'm aware cannot be circumvented which protects the person's accounts.
