One Ui 3.0 Update Via WiFi Only

Hi all, i'm very confused as to why in "the 5G era" we are forced to download a software update via WiFi? 

I have an unlimited 5G data plan and therefore I have no need for WiFi in my home. This means that as of now, I have no way to conveniently update to One Ui 3.0. 

There should always be the option to manually select to download via LTE or 5G which does not currently exist according to Samsung Support.

Like yourself, I too have an unlimited data plan and used it to update to stable Android 11 using mobile data. 

As per the screenshot below which quite clearly states...

"Downloading via mobile networks may result in additional charges. If possible, download via a Wi-Fi network instead"

That is sound advice for someone who does not want to eat up their mobile data allowance... it does not in any way prevent you from choosing to update your phone via mobile data.

Thanks for your comment. As you can see via the screenshot below, I do not have an option to download via mobile data even though I live next to a 5G and LTE tower with very stable connectivity.

Which model of Galaxy S20 do you have. Is it one of the flagship models or the S20 FE?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G global Exynos model on unbranded firmware for the U.K.

Strange issue. Going back on a chat with Samsung to try and figure this out because it doesn't make sense to me why wifi would be a requirement for this.

Yes it does, because there is no option to update over mobile data 🙄
