Not receiving a sound alert for text messaging on a new Samsung S20+

I am not receiving an alert when I get a text message.  I have tried the setting and everything is in order and I have gone into the message app and setting and everything is in order there.  I restarted the phone after doing all that and still no sound notification.  Can anyone help?

make sure all things relevant are on
