Anybody a bit irritated by the strings of light coming from lamposts etc when taking a night shot .
Seems like extreme lens flare and ruins 80 percent of the shots taken.
Anyone got any tips on how to prevent this maybe or if it's going to be rectified in future updates ,it's pretty awful tbh .

Lens flare has been an issue since cameras were invented. It is not possible to remove but can be reduced by carefully composing the photo and avoiding use of zoom. Better results can be obtained using wide angle lens. It really is more about technique as the best camera/ lens will produce these results in the wrong hands.

ok but this isn't general lens flare ,this is strings of light coming from sources such as lamp posts ,there is videos on YouTube pointing this out on night shot comparisons with other phones ,it looks a mess .
if I take a general photo of a street with street lights every street light has this long line of light coming from it .
I am aware of flare such as a dot that you can position your ***** into the source of light so the dot dissapears etc but this is next level and unacceptable really.

take this as an example ,look at the state of it ,not only do I have a green dot that I would have to position inside the moon to remove I have a street light that looks completely blown and even gone a bit green.

I would take a light reading from the street lamp and manually set those readings and then take the picture. In auto mode the reading will be the average of anything in the viewfinder.

that could possibly be due to smudging of the camera, i regularly clean mine so it has minimal lines coming from light

it can due to a dirty camera or a not good camera glass protector if you have one
