Should I use night mode or pro mode for night photos?

Pro mode is the best choice, but first of all if you are shooting hand held you should use night mode it is more convenient.
If you happen to have a tripod you should use pro mode beacuse if on night mode it tends to bump the iso giving noisy photos on pro mode you can manage the iso and shutter speed and my advice is to start with minimum iso and 5 seconds shutter speed to see how lighting is and from that start going up in exposure times till you are satisfied, if you get to the full 30seconds of exposure and do not get a good result you will need to start using a higer iso too (but will give you more noise in the pics). Of course if the subject is moving or could move you should balance the thing i told you with a lower exposure and possibly higher ISO in order not to get a bad picture
