Howdy!

Device: S20+ 5G (EE) SM-G986B/DS
Android: 11

Looking for some advice about this irritating issue.

I first encountered it about 3 or 4 months ago when I first got the phone. It came about despite not having been in contact with water, not that anybody seems to believe that 😂

I've been having trouble with it on and off ever since but it never lasts long enough for a diagnosis to be made (IMHO it's a hardware issue). I've tried cleaning the port as the newest version of android suggests debris may also be a contributing factor, and there's never any visible moisture (confirmed by inspection with a microscope).

Today, while I was having a nap on the couch (long week) and the phone was on my desk it happened again. I tried clearing the port again to no avail. Several restarts later and a period of reverse wireless charging from another phone, the droplet in my notifications disappeared. Tried it again on my charger (several others have been tried so it's not that) and it started super charching straight away.

I'm at a total loss as to whether it's software or hardware. Anybody know of any inherant defects or anything else that could be contributing to this? A method to bypass the error would also be useful

Cheers

Lewis

I've seen quite a few similar posts to yours on this forum and others and it seems to me to be on the most part a glitch. Although of course some phone's have been in contact with water or extreme change of temperature can cause droplets inside the phone.

If the usual fixes available via a Google search are not helping then a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can take a look.

I wish you all the best with this @Randilio1

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Doesn't work bud, moisture can be detected while the phone is off. Instead of a notification, you get a water droplet and a yellow warning triangle

I have the EXACT same problem. I've been leaning towards software for the longest time, but honestly, I don't even know anymore. I keep contacting Samsung with no luck. I'll get back to you if I resolve this. I just want to listen to music in my car 😂.

I bought a Razer Kishi only today & every time I plug it in I get this error. Absolutely useless to me & my device has been nowhere near water 😕

Updated the software today and lo and behold the moisture detection in the usb port has gone, Xmas day it's been on my phone.
Anyone have any idea why this occurred.
