Hi all,

Is there any way I can check the battery health on my S20? By this I don't mean the items in "Device care" in settings, but the actual health of the battery? There are usually some dialing codes to access this sort of thing but I can't find any for the S20.

Part of the reason I ask is I accidentally plugged my Huawei P20 phone charger into my S20 the other day for a very brief period before I realised - I'm paranoid that because the charger is designed for the fast charging on P20 that the battery may be damaged? Or could someone put my mind at ease and confirm that this won't have caused any issues?

I'm also interested in checking battery health just as something to keep an eye on as time goes by.

Thanks for any advice :smiling-face:

Hi there should be an option In settings called battery and device care. That should give you an idea of your battery condition.

There are some very good apps in the Playstore who's primary role is to give information on the battery @alex_ncfc

I use CPU-Z which provides lots of information about my phone including the battery.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

if you go on this members app and there is a section to do checks on your phone click on interactive checks and click on battery and it will say good if all is OK. However you need not worry S20 has a clever chip that will slow down the flow rate so it won't damage your phone. and on top of that it would not harm it with just a one off anyway. I once accidently charged an iPhone 6 with an ipad charger and it was fine.

if your still worried go members app, get help, phone care, interactive checks, battery and when your finished if you go on automatic checks it will just quickly check the whole phone too but you have nothing to worry about,

Thanks for the reassurance, I hope it is OK. I only plugged it in for a few seconds before I realised. It's because I still use my P20 occasionally for some things like the camera which I prefer over the S20 still (so far) and I ended up plugging in the wrong charger. I've had a look at those interactive checks and it says the battery life is "Good", which is good but not sure if there's anything above that level of "Good"?

no good is as good as it gets 😃 and not that it will damage your phone anyway but even if it would a few seconds would do nothing

I'm guess the battery health is measured in good average and poor
