Huge Battery Drain

I've noticed Google play services are draining battery in an alarming rate recently.

Not sure if this is related to the webview issues and apps crashing

@walkerx: I'm not aware of any battery drainage relating to the Chrome and Android System WebView issues. If you charge your phone to 100%, use it as you would normally until it reaches 50%, then head to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > Tap on the usage graph, what does it report for Google Play Services?

It was showing around 30% (probably more) earlier. Also past two mornings com.google.android.gms.persistent had been marked as causing cpu overload

I'll update this post with final findings.

I found the problem for th s draining battery was to do with Google Backup and it failing to do it, but Samsung was fine and so were other devices.

Cleared everything to do with the app, rebooted phone and got message about no backup setup. Went into the settings for backup and tried again and it finally backed up.
