front camera picture taking

When I try to take a normal pic with front camera, with the 3 leaves, zoomed out a bit so I can actually see what I'm trying to photograph, the flash option is not available?? The normal option is always too close, so i zoom it out a little bit can't use flash? Surely this can't be right..

the front as in the selfie camera ? you shouldn't have the 3 leaves on the screen on the selfie camera if you're talking about the rear when in telephoto mode the flash will not work

The reason is the camera has an ultra wide view, but the beam spray of the flashlight is narrower. The resulting image would have exposure issues with either a good center and a dark edge or a washed out center and decent edges.
