I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S0 fFE 5g. Was surprised that there was no 3.5mm jack for earphones. Bought a 3.5mm jack to usb-c adapter expecting my problems to be over. However all I got was the message connected device unsupported. Sound continued via phone speakers but nothing through earphones. Do I need to adjust any settings, buy a better adapter/earphones or only use Samsung accessories? Thank you

Should the adapter and earphones have DAC?

Use only the adapter USB- C to Jack from Samsung because it needs a DAC chip in it. A simple adapter wich is only wired won't work.  There were a lot of adapters in the Samsung box for free before, but now everything is extra. Money money money...

My partner uses the Samsung Galaxy s20 and needed such an adapter as she likes using her own earphones.

Purchased one from ebay which isn't a Samsung brand and that works fine.

Maybe its the adapter or it needs pushing in more firmly. Check the usb-c port for debris using a torch @SVRied1433

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
