My s20fe dies early afternoon. This is the worst battery life on any phone I have ever owned. I see my daughter still using her iPhone 2vdays after charging it and she is always on the phone. Whats going on?

If I had known how disgraceful the battery life on this phone was I would have gone down the iPhone route.

first you have to switch the 120 hertz display refresh rate to standart 60 hertz. It made massive difference in battery life for me. Try and let me know what difference you get :smiling-face: I love the phone tho, isn't too big and camera is beautiful. Fast charging working good too

phone screen is bright so reduce to about 1/4 brightness and switch off adaptive brightness - and set most apps to not use background battery - I finish day with around 40% you can customise battery use a lot more on Android than apple

screen brightness has been changed to 60 percent. apps put to sleep. battery optimised. and its now just before 7pm and I am having to plug in my phone. the trouble is they rave about all these features and when you use them the battery dies and they tell you to forget the fancy features.

My daughter has the iPhone 11 so I cannot comment on the 12. I do hope the battery is as bad as the s20fe so I have no excuse to swop.

I have the iPhone 11 Pro for work as it was giving to me for work and I can assure you I don't get 2 days battery life. it will last maybe 7/9 hour and that's me only accepting calls making calls and getting texts their as my S20 I can pretty much use it all day evan watching films and I still have battery life.

I wiped the system cache and since then my battery last more then twice longer, don't know if that's the reason or because I switched to regular refresh rate of the display. 120 shouldn't be using that much power if it does than its useless battery killer lol. Try wiping your system cache https://youtu.be/b5kB1vg5ViE here is the video tutorial in case you don't know how to do. it's easy and quick

May be different experiences but limiting 120 hertz display refresh rate and wiping system cache should make a difference.

Thanks for video @DianDD ,   I will also post steps here for reference.

1. Switch off the Samsung Galaxy S20 completely.
2. Press and hold the Volume up key and the Power/Bixby key simultaneously.
3. Release the buttons when the Android recovery screen appears on the display.
4. Use the Volume down key until you highlight "Wipe Cache Partition".
5. Press the Power/ Bixby button to select the entry.
6. confirm the operation again by selecting "Yes". via  the Volume Down Button.
select "Reboot System Now".

Some members will aleady have made adjustments  but consider tweaking other settings to optimise battery life by adjusting power settings, switching off some connections when not needed and putting certain apps to sleep for instance.

It is really bad I took of the 120hz refresh rate and trying it again. I now get the phone and it is poor when I first got my A31 granted it had a 5000 mah battery it got close to 5 hours the s20fe was like 3 hours to 4 hours.  I also charge the phone as soon as I remove it in 3 second it drop two 98 percent.  I will also try the power saving mode because don't need the high processing all the time. They should of squeeze at least a 5000 mah in this phone at the price point but I guess that is the trade of for nfc wireless charging at better cooling.
