Data on SIM-card disables itself repeatedly

I've now had the same issue with both my Samsung S10 and my new Samsung S20. Data on the sim card automatically switches over to the other sim card - which does not support data. Several times every day I have to disable the other sim card and reenable the one with data. This is extremely frustrating and has been like this for several months. I've tried both upgrading to a new phone and I've tried switching sim card.

There's a setting in the SIM category of the settings page which deals with which SIM to use for data. Yours is probably set to use the SIM with the strongest signal. You should be able to change the setting to only use the first SIM for data.

Go to:
Settings > Connections > SIM card manager

It should be straightforward from there.

There is no such setting there. You can just specify which SIM to use for data but that setting changed by itself all the time.

The settings for which SIM to use for data shouldn't change automatically. There's no reason why it should swap to another SIM

Unfortunately, I have received One UI 3.0 update so I can't see that setting anymore. If you're on One UI 3.0, you won't see this wether. My original reply was sent on 19 August 2020 which is whilst I had One UI 2

I have dual SIM Note 20 Ultra and have my data set to SIM 2. I haven't experience any issues with the SIM card swapping to SIM 1.

There is no reason why it should swap. Yet it does. It did it on my old samsung s10 and still now on my s20. That's the problem described in this thread.

Google Fi in the UK? Could be why your phone keeps switching because Google Fi have no network in the UK and as an American carrier, your UK SIM with Vodafone (I'm guessing?) would take priority. Could you clarify, are you from America? UK citizen? Vodafone UK SIM?
