Chat messages

I was able to use chat messages instead of text messages and It was working fine. I could see if someone read my message and whatnot but occasionally it would switch to text messaging when I didn't want it to. 

Now, it's all text messaging and won't switch back. I dont know if it's because I use 3 but it was working fine before and all of a sudden it stopped. I've tried practically everything.i don't know what else to do.

This is something a few if us had problems with but thanks to some helpful members we have a better understanding.
The short version is to be deregistered from the server and set up again. To deregister you must not attempt to set this up for 8 days. If you try during this period the 8 day clock starts ticking so it's a waiting game, I'm afraid.
